Fossil Fuel Fashion

To create conversation around the critical issue of fossil fuel use within fast fashion, we partnered with sustainability-focused strategy group Eco-Age and Sophia Kianni, the youngest UN advisor, to create content that simplifies this complicated topic.

Most fast fashion items are composed of “synthetics,” which is just another term for fossil fuel-based fibers like polyester. It’s estimated that these materials will make up 73% of all textiles by 2030. We are literally wearing oil.

So, during COP28 in Dubai, we helped bring this topic to top of mind by releasing a suite of film and photo assets timed to Energy Day.

The campaign was supported by Vogue Arabia and WWD and shared across social by partners including Fashion Revolution, Feminist, Earthrise Studio, Intersectional Environmentalist and more, garnering an estimated 21M in organic reach.

This work speaks to one of our core values at Bright Colors – tackling complicated topics with simple, shareable content that provokes conversation, awareness and change.
